Lillian Frette

Lillian R. Frette, 97, Grand Forks, ND passed away Monday, October 7, 2013 in Valley Memorial Home Eldercare. Lillian was born March 29, 1916 to John and Manda (Lunde) Stromstad. She attended Grand Forks Public Schools and graduated from Hillcrest Lutheran Academy, which was then located in Grand Forks, and later from Aaker's Business College. She was employed by Midnite Express in Grand Forks, ND and Crookston, MN from 1936 to 1945. She then worked at the Grand Forks Deaconess Hospital and United Hospital as an accounts payable accountant until 1973. She worked as a clerk in the Grand Forks County Treasurer's office until she retired in 1981. Lillian married John A. Frette on June 23, 1967 in Fergus Falls, MN. He died on March 29, 1991. Lillian was a longtime member of Bethel Lutheran Church where she served as Sunday school secretary-treasurer and congregational secretary for many years. In her retirement, she enjoyed the company of her dog, Heidi, working in her yard and following sports activities. She especially enjoyed watching Twins baseball and Sioux hockey games on TV. She also helped out at the city public library and the Senior Citizen Center. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a sister, Janet (Harold) Olson of Fergus Falls. She is survived by several cousins and their families. Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM Friday, October 11, 2013 in Amundson Funeral Home of Grand Forks. Visitation will be for the hour before the service in the funeral home. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery of Grand Forks.
