Timothy F. McGurran

Timothy Francis McGurran, 67, Grand Forks, ND died Monday, Oct. 21, 2013 at Altru Hospital. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church on Thursday, October 24 at 2:00 p.m. Viewing will start at 1:00 p.m. Tim was born October 16, 1946 in Grand Forks to William J. and Grace (Brown) McGurran. William and Grace moved from Cavalier, ND to Grand Forks in 1951. Tim married Susan Fischer on Jan. 9, 1966. Tim loved nature and its simple pleasures. He loved spending time camping, fishing, woodworking, cutting grass, drawing pictures and reflecting on God's beauty here on earth. Tim was a master plumber by trade. He worked for Economy Plumbing in his younger years. Tim's most enjoyable job was working for Camp Shalom at Maple Lake. The camp offered him many of the simple pleasures mentioned above and the opportunity to work and play at the same time. Sue (Fischer) McGurran, his wife of 46 years could be found at his side or near by. Together they raised 4 children and taught them that life offers many hardships, but with hard work and a determined heart, laughter and love will prevail. Tim is preceded in death by his father, mother, two brothers and his wife. He is survived by 5 brothers; 6 sisters; 4 children, Steve (Nida), Janet (Tom) Johnson, Tammy (Keith) Haus, and Nancy (Dennis) Jenson; 11 grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by all.
