Judith E. "Judy" Miller, 70, Grand Forks died Monday, November 4, 2013 in Altru Hospital, Grand Forks. Judith Elaine Krogstad was born to Adolph and Carrie (Brokke) Krogstad on February 12, 1943 in Union Township, Grand Forks County, near Reynolds, ND. She attended grade school in Union Township and graduated from Mayville High School. She later attended Mayville State Teachers College. Judy was employed by UND for a short time. She moved to Pennsylvania where she was employed by the FSA for many years. Later she returned to North Dakota where she worked as a receptionist for 21 years in the NE Human Service Center. She retired in 2008. Judy married Marlin Miller in the Chapel of the Imperial Palace in Las Vegas, Nevada in 1999. She loved to play BINGO, watch Sioux Hockey and MN Twins Baseball, and was a master of lefse baking. Judy's kind heart and dedication to helping people will live on through organ donation to Life Source where she helped improve the lives for 60 people. Judy is survived by her husband, Marlin, Grand Forks; father, Adolph Krogstad, Reynolds, ND; sons Curtis Whitmoyer (Jill Grim), (Biglerville), Pennsylvania and Cory Whitmoyer, Grand Forks; step-children, Natalie (Tim) Fossen, St Bonifacius, MN, Rachael (Jeff) Wyum, Minot, ND, Shane (Debra) Miller, Grafton, ND, and Hope Miller (Steve Fabala), Beulah, ND; 15 grandchildren and step-grandchildren; brothers, Donald (Nancy) Krogstad, Grand Forks; Kent (Valerie) Krogstad, Hatton, ND; Jan Krogstad, Reynolds, ND; numerous nieces and nephews; brother-in-law, Gerald (Sue) Miller, Forest River, ND; sister-in-law, Virginia (Phil) Blomquist, Grafton, ND. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, and her mother, Carrie Krogstad. A memorial service will be held at Amundson Funeral Home, 2975 S. 42nd St., Grand Forks, at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 9, 2013. A visitation will held an hour prior to the service in the funeral Home. Interment will be at Stjordalen Cemetery. In memory of Judy, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society www.cancer.org , Altru Hospice www.altru.org/services/hospice, or Hospice of the Red River Valley www.hrrv.org/giving.
