Lilymae Hauger

Lilymae Hauger, 93, of Grand Forks, ND died Sunday, November 3, 2013 in Valley Eldercare Center, Grand Forks. Lilymae was born January 11, 1920 in Niagara, ND to Oscar and Allette (Ellertson) Halstenson. She graduated from Niagara High School. Lilymae married Raymond Hauger on November 30, 1943 in Madison, WI. Following Ray's discharge from the Army, they lived in Niagara and Petersburg where they raised their 5 children. Lilymae worked in the Petersburg/Unity School lunchroom. After Ray's death in 1978, she moved to Grand Forks. She worked at the UND Wilkerson Dining Center and the Home of Economy Snack Bar. She retired in 1997. She enjoyed traveling with her sisters, crocheting afghans for her grandchildren, playing cards and Bingo with her Briarwood friends, and spending time with her family. Lilymae is survived by her children: Linda (Carmen) Erickson, Minot, Charlene Bessette, and Don Bessette, Minot, Glenn (JoAnn) Hauger, Grand Forks, Dennis Hauger, Grand Forks, Marv (Kathy) Hauger, Grand Forks, 10 grandchildren; Katie (Seth) Greicar, Chris Erickson, Jodi (Travis Evanoff) Bessette, Ryan (Ginger) Bessette, Nikki (Derek) Bischof, Penny Lee, Matthew (Aileen) Hauger, Mindy (DJ) Wadholm, Tyson (Jessica) Hauger, Wesley Hauger, 11 great-grandchildren; Sarah, Joseph, Sage, Sam, Sadie, Logan, Zowie, Ryker, Zach, Tom, Gretchen, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Raymond, sisters Martha, Eleanor, Cora, Alice, Nina and brother Leland. Funeral Service will be held Friday, November 8, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. in Calvary Lutheran Church. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the start of the service in the church. Interment will be in Elk Valley Cemetery, McCanna, ND
