Marilyn (Bullinger) Kouba

Marilyn Myrtle (Bullinger) Kouba, 77, of East Grand Forks, MN, passed away at Valley Memorial Eldercare, surrounded by her family on Thursday, November 14, 2013. Marilyn was born on January 20, 1936, the daughter of the late Walter and Myrtle (Hall) Puppe. She graduated from Gardena High School, Gardena, ND. She married Jerry Bullinger on January 23, 1955 in Gardena Lutheran Church and together they raised 8 children. Marilyn and Jerry owned and operated the Kramer Bar for several years. Over the years she did daycare, was employed by Mr. Steak and Perkins as a hostess. She was a member of the Sharon Lutheran Church, Senior Choir and a member of Martha Circle. Jerry passed away on October 1, 1993. She married Leonard Kouba on May 12, 1995 and they lived in East Grand Forks, MN until she entered Edgewood Vista Memory Care in 2007. She will be remembered for her awesome ability to cook and bake. Her specialties were her homemade buns, pies, coffee cake and liver dumpling soup. Marilyn also had a phenomenal ability to clean or get you to clean!! Marilyn's home was always open and inviting, a warm place for family and friends to gather and play cards, eat pie or just enjoy each other's company. She leaves her loving memories to be cherished by her husband; children, Doug (Laurie) Bullinger , Maple Grove, MN, Randy (Kim) Bullinger, Fargo, ND, Bonnie (Rick) Aamot, Cindy Strom (fiancé Jeff Novak), Shelly (Rob) Corbett all of Grand Forks, Jim Bullinger (Shanna Conner), Bemidji, MN,, Todd Bullinger and Dean Bullinger, both of Grand Forks; Grandchildren - Chris (Kelly Todd) , Cassie, Jesse, Josh (Kristan), Heidi, Ashley and Averi Bullinger,, Joe and Jordy Aamot, Katie (David) Pierce, Dan Strom, Nick and Jenna Corbett, Shalee (Craig) Lorenz ; 5 Great Grandchildren; Blake, Kadence and Cole Bullinger, Kylie and Drew Pierce. Brothers; Rodney (Rita), Darold (Lynn), Tom (Linda) and Jim (Mae) Puppe, brother-in-law Jay Graba, sister-in-laws Wanda and Linda Puppe. She is also survived by 6 step children; Larry (Terry) Kouba, Darlene (Dennis) Barton, Linda (Dan) Eilers, Dwight (Cyndi) Kouba, Reed (Randi) Kouba, Sharon (Dan) Walker; 14 step grandchildren and 13 step great grandchildren; She is preceded in death by her parents, first husband, Jerry, grandson, Michael Bullinger, sister; Helen Graba, brothers; Donald, Vernon & Jerry Puppe Services will be held at Sharon Lutheran Church 1720 S. 20th St., Grand Forks on Monday November 18, 2013, At 11:00 AM.
