Olaf Overland

Olaf A. Overland, 100, Grand Forks and formerly of Mekinock, ND, died Friday, November 15, 2013 in the Northwood Deaconess Health Center, Northwood, ND. Olaf was born July 13, 1913 in Antler, ND, the son of Ole and Anna (Lieberg) Overland. He was raised and educated in Mekinock. Olaf married Agnes Eidem on November 30, 1946 in Grand Forks. They belonged to Ness Lutheran Church in Mekinock where Olaf was active in the men's group. He was also a member of the Lion's Club and served on the Mekinock township board for 30 years. Olaf and Agnes lived and farmed near Mekinock for 52 years before moving to Grand Forks in 1998. Agnes died June 24, 2004. He is survived by several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife, Agnes and by sisters, Josephine Hensrud, Thelma Bang, Evelyn Overland and Rudella Jacobson. Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, November 20, 2013 in Ness Lutheran Church of Mekinock. Visitation will be for the hour before the service in the church. Burial will be in Memorial Park South Cemetery of Grand Forks.
