Anna Marie Novak

Anna M. Novak, 90, of East Grand Forks, MN passed away on Thursday, November 28, 2013 at Sanford Health Hillsboro Care Center, Hillsboro, ND. Anna Marie Vasek was born on August 26, 1923 in Northland Township, rural Tabor, MN, the daughter of Frank Sr. and Bertha(Gust) Vasek. She was raised in the Tabor area where she attended country school. On October 3, 1944 she was united in marriage to Robert Piker at Tabor, MN. On October 28, 1950, she was united in marriage to Edwin Novak at Tabor, MN. They made their home in East Grand Forks, MN. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the VFW and American Legion Auxiliary. Anna loved spending her time in the garden. In 1989 she was the winner of the "Yard of the Summer" and in 2005 her yard was on the garden tour. She is survived by her daughter Elaine Novak, East Grand Forks, MN, Evonne (Gene)Kuzel of East Grand Forks, MN, and Harvey (Shirley)Novak of Lincoln, NE; grandchildren, Sherry (Kuzel) Davies, Gary, (aka: Bobby) Kuzel, Jackie (Novak) Kaup, Jonathan Novak and Jim Novak; sisters, Helen Honek of Tabor, MN and Henrietta Myszkowski of Warren, MN. Anna was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Robert and Edwin; brothers Frank Vasek, Jr. and Henry Vasek. A funeral mass will be on Monday, December 2, 2013 at 11:00 AM in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 200 3rd St. NW, East Grand Forks, MN. Visitation will be for the hour before the service in the church. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Grand Forks.
