David Czapiewski

David E. Czapiewski, 67, Grand Forks, ND died Sunday, December 8, 2013 in Valley Memorial Home Eldercare. David was born May 1, 1946 in Grand Forks, the son of Edward and Donna (Ferguson) Czapiewski. He was raised and educated in Manvel and Grand Forks, ND. David began working at a young age for Associated Potato Growers of Grand Forks. He served in the U. S. Army from 1965 to 1967 in Texas and later Virginia. After his discharge, he returned to Grand Forks and resumed his work with Associated Potato Growers where he was employed for well over 40 years until his retirement in 2008. David enjoyed time at the lake, fishing and hunting. He also enjoyed computer games, cards, casinos and was an avid Minnesota Twins fan. But, his nieces and nephews were his pride and joy as was Mickey his cat. He loved going for drives and stopping by to visit family and friends. Survivors include his brothers, Ronald, Finley, ND and Roger (Bonnie), Grand Forks; nieces and nephews, Kelli (Rodney Jorde) Cooper, Janet (Chad Hoverson) Hoffman, Traci (Travis) Frahm, Dale (Tasha) Czapiewski, Shelly (James) Meagher, Julie (Todd) Goulet, Rick (Amy) Czapiewski, Paul (Catrina Green) Czapiewski, Pamela (Steve) Haus, and several great nieces and nephews. David was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Michael; sister-in-law, Arlys Czapiewski; and one infant nephew, Darin Czapiewski. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM Wednesday, December 11, 2013 in St. Michael's Catholic Church of Grand Forks, ND. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM with a 7:00 Prayer Vigil in Amundson Funeral Home of Grand Forks, ND. Visitation will continue for the hour before the service in the church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in the spring.
