Diann Wilkinson

Diann K. Wilkinson, 70, Grand Forks, died Sunday, December 8, 2013 in her home. Diann Kay Vogel was born to Raymond and Caroline (Mannes) Vogel on July 14, 1943 at Marinette, Wisconsin. At 20 years old met Richard Wilkinson. They were united in marriage on May 11, 1963 in Los Angeles, California. They lived in multiple locations around the world as Richard served in the military and Diann was a very supportive military spouse. They moved to Grand Forks in July, 1982 when they retired from the Navy. She was employed by Altru Health Systems for many years. Diann was a very energetic person and loved life, spending time at their place on Lake Of the Woods laughing lots around the campfire. As her children were growing up you would often find her in the mix of the neighborhood football game or even kick the can. She will very much be missed by those close to her. She is survived by her husband, Richard, Grand Forks; children, Timothy (Debbie) Wilkinson, Statesboro, GA, Colleen (Jerald) Eklie, Minot, ND, and David Wilkinson, Grand Forks; grandchildren, Tyler Wilkinson, Chase Wilkinson, Hannah Wilkinson, Peyton Eklie, and Jaret Eklie; a sister, Michelle (Randy) Poundstone, CO. She is preceded in death by her parents, a son, Patrick Wilkinson, and a sister, Sue Martinez. Memorial Services: 1:00 p.m. Thursday, December 12, 2013 in Amundson Funeral Home, 2975 S. 42nd St., Grand Forks. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service in the funeral home. The family prefers memorials to the Alzheimers Association of America given in Diann's name.
