Robert W. Stadstad

Robert Wesley Stadstad , age 91 of Manvel, ND passed away on Monday, Dec. 30, 2013 at the Deaconess Nursing Home in Northwood, ND. Born to Obert and Bertha Stadstad on Sept. 20, 1922, Robert attended a country school and was confirmed at Middle Grove Lutheran Church. Robert married Corryne Hoverson on July 29, 1945 in Manvel, ND and they made their home on a farm in Manvel. Robert farmed his entire life and also served on the Board of Directors of Manvel Farmers Grain Co., as well as holding various church offices. He enjoyed spending his winters in Mesa, AZ playing pinochle with his friends, and spending time in the summer with his family at his lake home on Devils Lake. Corryne and he also liked to travel around the country in their motor home. Robert was a farmer, but first and foremost, he was a loving and dedicated family man who will be remembered by his family as a steady and loving provider. Survivors include his wife: Corryne Stadstad, Warren MN; his children: Darryl Stadstad, Manvel ND, and Douglas Stadstad, Grand Forks ND; his two grandchildren: Heather (Richard) Bushaw, Grand Forks ND; Holly (Ross) Fugleberg, Berlin ND; great- granddaughter: Brynn Bushaw; his brother: George Stadstad, Grand Forks ND. Funeral services will be held at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Manvel ND on Jan. 3, 2014 at 11:00 AM. Visitation will be at 10:00 AM, the hour before the service in the church. Burial will be at the Middle Grove Church Cemetery in Mekinock, spring of 2014.
