Edward S. Kaiser, 90, of Grand Forks, died Sunday, January 12, 2014 at Woodside Village in Grand Forks. Eddie was born July 17, 1923, in Emerado, ND, the son of Isaac & Mary (Holweger) Kaiser. Eddie grew up and attended schools in Emerado. He entered the US Army in June of 1944, serving 2 years during WWII. He fought in the Battle of the Bulge and received a purple heart before his honorable discharge in June of 1946. Eddie married Cleo Molstad on June 13, 1962, in Rapid City, SD. They made their home in Grand Forks. Eddie loved playing drums. He was in the Louie Martinez band and Pancho and the Rhythm Rockets. He also enjoyed spending time with his family at Gull Lake Campground, where he earned the name "Nice Fire Eddie". Picking up his granddaughters from school where also a very important part of his life. Eddie was survived by his wife, Cleo; sons, Stephen (Pat), Ron (Tammy), Curtis (Jodi) Kaiser; daughters, Patty (Rick) Schumacker, Vicki Knight; brother, Roger (Sandra) Kaiser; sister, Bertha (Wallace) Henrie; 10 grandchildren & 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by several brothers & sisters.
