Gilford Davidson

Gilford N. "Gilly" Davidson, 70, Grand Forks, died Thursday, January 23, 2014 in Altru Hospital, Grand Forks, surrounded by his loving family. Gilford Nile Davidson was born in Grand Forks on September 29, 1943 to Ole and Lily (Holter) Davidson. He was raised and educated in Grand Forks. Gilford was employed in Grand Forks for 44 years by Rydell Chevrolet. He enjoyed watching football, westerns, and cooking shows Gilford loved spending time with his family and close friends. He also loved his animals including his pet birds and cats. Gilford is survived by a son, Nile (Tami) Davidson, Grand Forks; daughter, Holly (Howard) Stowe, Thief River Falls, MN; grandchildren, Jory, Keely, Matea, and Sirena; great-grandson, Jason Geske; brothers, Melvin (Jan) Davidson, Grafton, ND, and Robert (Bonnie) Davidson, Grand Forks; sisters, Lillian (Leroy) DeGagne, Grand Forks, Judy (Harvey) Akridge, Grand Forks, Mary (Al) Gagnon, Grand Forks, Rose Boulduc, East Grand Forks, MN, and Diane (Jack) Swanson, Las Vegas, NV; numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and three sisters, Lila, Marjorie, and Gloria. Funeral Services: will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 29, 2014 in Amundson Funeral Home, 2975 S. 42nd St., Grand Forks. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the spring.
