Grace V. Johnson

Grace Violet Johnson, 92, died Wednesday January 22, 2014 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, North Dakota. Grace was born July 17, 1921 to Thomas and Mary (Vensland) Campbell in Johnstown Township, North Dakota where she grew up and attended school. Grace married Wilbert Johnson August 12, 1937 in Crookston, Minnesota. They lived in California the early years of their marriage but returned to Inkster, North Dakota where Grace resided until 1991 when she moved to Grand Forks, North Dakota. Surviving Grace are her sons David (Karen) Johnson, Grand Forks, ND, Robert (Connie) Johnson, New Salem, ND and daughter Patricia Surface, Grand Forks, ND, Grandchildren Steven Johnson, Russell Johnson, Jeffrey Johnson, Matthew Johnson, Daniel Jechort, Travis Surface and Janie Phelps. Fourteen Great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband Wilbert Johnson, brothers Chester and Jasper Campbell, sisters Laura Campbell, Alice Foley, Pearl Jorgenson, Grandson Michael Basher and Great-grandson Abraham Johnson. Graveside services will take place Tuesday, May 13th at 2:00 p.m. at the Inkster Cemetery in Inkster, ND. An online guestbook is available at www.amundsonfuneralhome.com
