Margaret Barbara Hankerson

Margaret Hankerson, 93, of Grand Forks, ND passed away peacefully at Valley 4000Woodside Village in Grand Forks. She was born September 8, 1920 in Taylor, ND. Margaret was raised and educated in Dickinson, ND. In 1952 she married Fred Mann. When Fred passed away in 1966, Margaret moved to Grand Forks to be near her children and worked at the UND Credit Union. In 1977 she married Ken Hankerson, a retired UND math professor. They relocated to Woodburn, Oregon, until Ken passed away in 1992. Margaret returned to Grand Forks once again to be near family. She will be best remembered for being a great mother and homemaker . Margaret was a wonderful cook, and loved cooking for others. She also enjoyed gardening, reading, spoiling her pet poodles, and was excellent at knitting and crocheting. She will be lovingly missed by her three children--Karen Cloud, Don (Barb) Mann, and Kathy (Greg) Schneider; 10 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, brother John Swanson, and extended family members.
