Carol Louise Johnson, 75, of Grand Forks, passed away on Monday, February 10th, 2014, at Aneta Parkview Health Center in Aneta, ND. Carol was born on August 18th, 1938, in Crookston, MN, to Fred & Emily Montreuil. She graduated from Crookston Central High School, and worked part time at Villa St. Vincent Rest Home. She married Wallace Johnson on Nov. 3, 1956. They shared 57 years of marriage together and made their home in Grand Forks. She worked several years for the Bill Larson Company, sewing custom made draperies. Later she worked out of her home sewing draperies for Glen Cunningham and continued her art of sewing until she retired. Carol did many sewing projects for her family throughout the years. She enjoyed reading books, fishing, spending time with her family, and spending many days and weekends at their lake cabin on Strawberry Lake. She especially enjoyed playing with, and watching the kids enjoy the lake. She is survived by her husband, Wallace; son, David (Michelle) Johnson of Grand Forks; daughters, Kim Anderson of San Diego, CA, Vicki (Michael) Johansen of Norfolk, AR; 9 grandchildren & 7 great-grandchildren; brothers, Charles (Marilyn), Ralph (Della) and Alan Montreuil; sisters, Nona (Duane) Kaiser, Mary Grove and Jean Lunos. Carol was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Ernest and daughter, Julie Janes. MEMORIAL SERVICES: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 15, 2014 at United Lutheran Church 324 Chestnut St. in Grand Forks. VISITATION: the hour prior to the service at the church.
