Annie Nygaard

Annie Nygaard, 94, of Buxton, ND died Thursday, February 13, 2014 in the Luther Memorial Home in Mayville, ND. Annie Brustad was born on June 3, 1919 in Fosston, MN, the daughter of Ole and Anna (Sveum) Brustad. She grew up on a farm near Fosston and attended a one-room school near there. She married Milfred Hovet in 1940 and they farmed by Reynolds, ND until his death on July 29, 1968. After leaving the farm she lived in Buxton, ND. In 1977 she married Wally Nygaard in Buxton, ND. Annie is survived by her husband, Wally Nygaard, Buxton, ND, a daughter, Adeline Martinez, Boulder, Colorado, three sons, Milton Hovet, Green Mountain, Colorado, Roger Hovet, Ham Lake, MN, and Duane Hovet, Grand Forks, ND. Annie had nine grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, along with sharing six grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren with her husband Wally. Annie was preceded in death by her husband, Milfred Hovet, son-in-law, Roger Martinez, and eight brothers and sisters. She will be remembered by her family as a loving mother who cared deeply about her family. Funeral services will be Thursday, February 20, 2014 at 10:30 AM in the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Buxton, ND. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5 to 7 PM with a prayer service at 7 PM in Amundson Funeral Home, Grand Forks. Interment will be in the Hylestad Cemetery in the spring of 2014.
