James R. Cronin

James R. Cronin, 73, passed away on Thursday, February 13, 2014 at 4000 Valley Square Woodside Village, Grand Forks. Jim was born in Grand Forks, North Dakota on August 16, 1940, the son of James E. and MaDonna Cronin of Manvel, North Dakota. He lived and worked in the Grand Forks area until his retirement in 1995 as a Boiler Plant Operator at the GFAFB. Jim is survived by his wife of 48 years, Virginia (Hollarn) Cronin of Grand Forks. Also surviving are his 3 children and 6 grandchildren, Son, James (Pamela) of Fargo, ND and their 2 sons, Reed and Keegan; Daughter, Janelle (Greg) Cymbala of Parker, Colorado and their 2 daughters, Annika and Evalynn; Son, Larry (Amy) of Larimore, ND and their twin daughters, Riley and Hailey. Also a stepsister, MaryKay (Doug) Marsh of Grand Forks, ND. Jim was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Lawrence Cronin; and his stepsister, Shirley McClaurin of East Grand Forks, MN. In lieu of sending flowers, please send donations to Keegan Cronin Benefit Fund at Town and Country Credit Union, 925 14th Ave East, West Fargo, ND 58078. Memorial Services will be 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 18, 2014 in Amundson Funeral Home, 2975 S. 42nd St., Grand Forks. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday prior to the service in the funeral home. Interment will be at a later date in Calvary North Cemetery, Grand Forks.
