Orpha Omlid

Orpha J. Omlid, 92, of Grand Forks, and formerly of Thompson, ND died Thursday, February 20, 2014, in 4000 Valley Square Woodside Village of Grand Forks. Orpha was born January 29, 1922, in rural Thompson, ND, the daughter of Tillie & Halvor Thompson. She grew up and attended schools in the Thompson area. She married William H. Omlid on April 13, 1946. In her youth she loved to ride horse back. She also enjoyed spending time with her family. Orpha is survived by sons, Jon (Loretta) Omlid, Grand Forks, William J. (Suzann) Omlid, Pueblo, CO, Gerald (Pam) Omlid , Grand Forks and Scott (Jodi) Omlid, Plymouth, MN; 11 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; She was preceded in death by her husband, William; an infant son, Gene Omlid; brothers, Thelman & Gordon Thompson, and grandson, Micah. **In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Walle Lutheran Church. Funeral Services: 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 24, 2014, in Walle Lutheran Church of Grand Forks, ND. Visitation: Sunday, February 23, from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. with a 3:30 p.m. prayer service in Amundson Funeral Home of Grand Forks, ND. Visitation will continue for the hour before the service in the church. Interment: (Later Spring) Walle Lutheran Cemetery of Thompson, ND.
