Hildegard Klankowski

Hildegard "Hilde" Klankowski, 96, Reynolds, ND died Sunday, March 2, 2014 in Valley Memorial Home, Eldercare, Grand Forks. Hildegard Martha Marie Flitter was born July 6, 1917 in Iosco Township, MN, the daughter of Theodore and Margaret (Ewert) Flitter. She was raised on a farm near Janesville, MN and attended schools in the area. She married Ernest L. Klankowski on February 23, 1943. They lived at and farmed her family's farm for many years before retiring and moving into Janesville. During retirement, Hildegard worked at the Janesville Nursing home. They moved to Reynolds, ND in 1984. Hildegard enjoyed her hobbies which included crocheting, sewing tricot pillowcases, and various other hobby crafts. Hildegard was survived by her son Harlan (Judy) Klankowski, Bowling Green, KY; daughter, Cindy (David) Flitter, Reynolds, ND; grandchildren, Jodi (Craig) Praxl and Michele (Jerry) Mefford, both of Bowling Green, KY, Angela Flitter, Grand Forks, Theresa Flitter, Reynolds, ND; great grandchildren, Amber, Ally and Cameron; and great, great grandson, Mason. She was preceded in death by her parents, Theodore and Margaret Flitter and husband, Ernest Klankowski. Memorial Services will be in Janesville, MN at a later date.
