Elizabeth "Betty" Farren

Elizabeth Ann Farren, 70, of Grand Forks, ND died Saturday, March 9, 2014 in her home surrounded by her family. Elizabeth Ann "Betty" Drexler Farren was born on March 3, 1944 in Alexandria, MN. She grew up in the Belle River and Carlos, MN area. She graduated from Jefferson Sr High School in Alexandria in 1962 and moved with her family to Grand Forks, ND. Betty married Robert Steinhaus on April 11, 1964. On October 28, 1972, she married William Farren in Webster, SD. Betty was employed by Altru Clinic for many years and started her career at the downtown Grand Forks Clinic. Betty loved her family and friends, watching sports and listening to country music. She enjoyed spending her summers at her place on Golden Lake. She will be remembered as a gentle person who showed kindness to all. She is survived by her son, John Farren of Grand Forks, ND; brother, James Drexler of Alexandria, MN; sister Nancy(Keith)Winger of Bemidji, MN; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Bill; father, Harold Drexler; mother, Leona Stedje Dorman and her step-father Arvin "Al" Dorman. A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 14, 2014 at 1:00 PM in Amundson Funeral Home, Grand Forks, ND. Visitation will be for one hour before the service in the funeral home.
