Vernon Seablom

Vernon J. Seablom, 86, Buxton, ND died Friday, March 14, 2014 in Sanford Medical Center of Hillsboro, ND Vernon James Seablom was born November 19, 1927 in Buxton, ND the son of John and Margaret (Ross) Seablom. He attended school in rural Buxton. Vernon entered the U. S. Navy on March 20, 1946 and served in California until he was discharged on March 20, 1949. Upon returning home, he took over the operation of his family's farm which his great grandmother had homesteaded. He lived and farmed there until moving into Buxton in 2005. Vernon was an active member of the American Legion Post 172 in Buxton ND. He enjoyed playing baseball and softball in his younger years. Vernon raised cattle along with his farming. He really enjoyed his livestock and caring for them. They where a big part of his life and he even named a lot of them. Vernon also enjoyed playing cards with many of his special friends when ever he could. Survivors include his sister, Lorraine Mohn, Grand Forks, ND and several nieces and nephews. Vernon was preceded in death by his parents, by a brother, John Seablom and a sister, Lois Nesvig. Memorial Services will be 2:30 PM Wednesday, March 19, 2015 in Amundson Funeral Home of Grand Forks. Visitation will be for the hour before the service in the funeral home.
