Marion Landrud Midboe, 88, Inkster, North Dakota, passed away peacefully from natural causes Saturday, April 26, 2014 at Altru Hospital with her family at her side Marion Landrud was born Oct 24, 1925, and lived her entire life on the family heritage farm in Strabane Twp. She took great pride in her agrarian heritage. She lived in the historical log house on the farm up until the 1980s and her appreciation of life was based on those values She graduated from Inkster High School in 1943 and attended Northern Business College in Grand Forks. She married Marvin Midboe in 1947. She cared for her mother Mayme and her grandmother Mary Landrud all their lives and through failing health. She loved being around livestock and took enormous pride in caring for them. Into her 80s she helped George bale hay and bring hay bales in from the field. Truly she was one of the Greatest Generation, having lived thru 2 World Wars and survived the trials of the Great Depression. She kept the farm' in the Dirty 30s by selling eggs, cream and milk, shearing sheep, butchering chickens and turkeys and cutting ice from the river. She is survived by sons Duane (Kathy), Climax; and George, Inkster; 4 grandchildren and 5 great Grandchildren. A celebration of her life will take place May 8, 2014 from 5-7pm at Amundson Funeral Home, 2975 S. 42nd St., Grand Forks followed by a 7:00 p.m. Prayer Service. The family prefers memorials to Inkster Cemetery Fund which may regard her affection for the Inkster Cemetery.
