Ozella "Kitty" Reinhardt

Ozella (Kitty) Reinhardt, Grand Forks, passed away on May 23, 2014, in the Hearthstone Neighborhood of Woodside Village. Kitty was born in Burleigh County, N.D., on February 21, 1925, to Frederick C. and Maria L. (Buck) Ketterling. She grew up on the family farm near Streeter, N.D., attending elementary school in rural Logan County. She later graduated from cosmetology school, having attended Christie's Beauty School in Bismarck. This lead to a life- long career as a beauty operator and salon owner, both in Bismarck, and later in Greeley, Colorado. Kitty also worked as a cosmetology instructor in Grand Forks and Aurora, Colorado. She was united in marriage to Raymond Reinhardt on December 5, 1943. They lived in Napoleon, Elgin, Bismarck, and Grand Forks, N.D., later moving to Colorado where they lived in Greeley, Colorado Springs, and Aurora. After Ray's death in 1984, Kitty returned to Grand Forks where she remained for the rest of her life. Ozella is survived by one daughter, Bonnie Rae (Dr. Robert) Hardy,Ph.D. of Lincoln, NE, and one son, Jerald W. (Joan) Reinhardt,M.D., Grand Forks. Also surviving are grandchildren: Elizabeth Hardy, Somerville ,MA; Aaron (Tanya) Reinhardt, Peoria, AZ; Alison (Dennis) Hoff, Fargo, ND ; Joshua Reinhardt, Fargo, ND; step-grandson Thomas (Andrea) Brown, Ph.D., North Mankato, MN, and great grandchildren: Noah, Emma, and Zachary Reinhardt of Peoria, AZ; Hayley and Xander Hoff of Fargo, ND; and step great grandson Ian M. Brown of North Mankato, MN. Also surviving Ozella are sisters Elvira Greuel, Gladys Becker, LaJune Perman and Elda Erbele, and one brother, Dr. Clarence Ketterling. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond, her parents, as well as siblings: Violet Zimmerman, Elmer Ketterling, Reverend Oliver Ketterling, Archie Ketterling, Orville Ketterling, Myrtle Lepp, and Reuben Ketterling; and great granddaughter Gabrielle Hoff. The family suggests memorials be directed to Valley 4000 Memorial Foundation in Grand Forks. A memorial service will be held at Amundson Funeral Home, 2975 South 42nd Street, Grand Forks, ND at 2 PM, Tuesday, May 27, 2014, with a visitation preceding the service at 1 PM. Interment will be held at a later date at Fairview Cemetery in Bismarck, N.D.
