Doris B. Myron, 96, Thompson, ND died Saturday, June 7, 2014 in Valley Memorial Home Woodside Village. Doris Belle Swenson was born December 19, 1917 in Fordville, ND the daughter of John and Julia Swenson. She was raised and educated at Leeds, ND and graduated from high school there in 1935. Doris then attended the University of North Dakota and became the first female graduate in Accounting. She then worked as an accountant for UND and later for NDAC, (now NDSU). Doris married Robert Myron on December 25, 1941. They lived several places in the United States during Robert's military service. In 1945, they moved to rural Thompson, ND where they lived, farmed and raised their family. Doris and Bob loved their farm neighborhood and community where they continued to reside during their retirement. They hosted a Sunday morning Christian fellowship group in their home for many years. Doris was an excellent cook and hostess who loved to open her home to guests. She also enjoyed gardening and travel. Doris is survived by her children, Duane (Sharon) Myron of Thompson, ND, Cheryl Hatlestad of Kent, WA, and Dianne (Larry) Larson of Grand Forks, ND. Her seven grandchildren include Tim (Char) Myron, Joni (Kelly) Grotte, Jim (Jessica) Hatlestad, Darci Lee, Elizabeth (Jason) Sillers, Andre (Chris) Endicott, and Kari (Aaron) Arvig. She is survived by 20 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. Doris is preceded in death by her husband, Robert and by a brother, Dean Swenson. Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM Friday, June 20, 2014 in Amundson Funeral Home of Grand Forks, ND. Visitation will be Thursday, June 19, 2014 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM the funeral home. Burial will be in the Thompson Cemetery of Thompson, ND.
