Edward Bock, 84, Grand Forks, North Dakota, died Wednesday, June 11, 2014 in Altru Hospital, Grand Forks. Edward William Patrick Bock was born to Albert and Senja Marie (Harju) Bock on March 17, 1930 in Grand Forks, North Dakota. He was raised and educated in Grand Forks and graduated from Grand Forks Central High School. Eddy was employed by the Great Northern/Burlington Northern Railroad. He enlisted in the US Air Force, serving during the Korean War. Upon discharge from the military he returned to Grand Forks and continued to work for the railroad. Edward Bock and Shirley Everson were married on June 25, 1954 at Newfolden, Minnesota. They lived in Grand Forks following their marriage. He is survived by his children; Rev. Ronald (Nancy) Bock, Arvada, CO, Cathy (Tom) Lerud, Grand Forks, Rick (Nancy) Bock, Elk River, Minnesota, Dr. William (Miriam) Bock, Bemidji, Minnesota, Patricia (Paul) Bruns, New Hope, Minnesota; 15 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren; sister, Elizabeth Longnecker, Lacey, WA; sisters-in-law, Marion Smith, Grand Forks, Karen (Ed) Goetz, Grand Forks; brother-in-law, Gordon (Diane) Everson, Aitkin, MN numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Shirley Bock, a grandson, Timmy, a brother, Erwin Bock, and a sister, Sharon Tompkins. Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 20, 2014 in Augustana Lutheran Church, 520 University Ave., Grand Forks. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service in the church.
