Marie Kvasager, 87, formerly of Grand Forks, North Dakota, died Monday, June 23, 2014 in the Touchmark Complex, Fargo, North Dakota. Marie Helen Swanson was born to Frank and Hannah (Smilden) Swanson on January 12, 1927 at Larimore, North Dakota. She was raised and educated in Larimore. Marie Swanson and Harry Kvasager were united in marriage on August 8, 1948 in Grand Forks. They lived in Grand Forks and Marie joined her husband to work for the McKinnon Company and was employed there from 1976-1991. She enjoyed dancing, including dances at the American Legion and was one of the original Pioneer Square Dancers in the area. She also enjoyed casinos, playing cards, socializing with friends, and decorating homes. Marie is survived by sons, Rod "Butch" Kvasager, Barnesville, MN and Ron Ovind (Betty), Parker, CO; 5 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Gladys Ring, Grand Forks, and Gene Swanson, Larimore, ND. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Kvasager who died January 13, 1995, her parents, Frank and Hannah Swanson, a brother, Albert Swanson, and a daughter-in-law, Kathryn Kvasager. Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 27, 2014 in Amundson Funeral Home, 2975 S. 42nd St., Grand Forks. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, June 26, 2014 in Amundson Funeral Home . Interment will be in Bellevue Cemetery, Larimore, North Dakota.
