Harold W. Kranzler

Harold W. Kranzler, 95, of Princeton, MN and formerly of Grand Forks, ND Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at Sterling Pointe Assisted Living Facility in Princeton, MN. Harold Walter Kranzler was born to Bernhardt and Barbara (Cameron) on January 12, 1919 at Grand Forks, ND. He attended school in Grand Forks. Harold married Jeanne Veldink on February 11, 1942 in East Grand Forks. After serving in the United States Army, Harold and Jeanne made their home in Grand Forks. He was an engineer for the Great Northern Railroad until he retired. Harold and Jeanne were long time members of Grace Baptist Church in Grand Forks. Harold was an excellent carpenter and built four homes in the area with his brother and brother-in-law. He was also known for his beautiful landscaped yard. Woodworking and yard work were his favorite hobbies. In 2011, Harold moved to Princeton, MN to spend his remaining years near his family. He is survived by his three sons; Richard (Gail) Kranzler, Henderson, NV, Steve (Toni) Kranzler, Elk River, MN and Gerald Kranzler, Grand Forks, ND; five grandchildren and two great grandsons. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Jeanne (2008); son, Thomas Kranzler; and sisters, Caroline Rau, Marie Dutt, Loise Stroh and Lillian Balogh; brothers, Ben, Carl, Fred and John. A memorial service will be held on Monday, July 21, 2014 at 10:30 AM in Amundson Funeral Home, 2975 South 42nd St., Grand Forks, ND. Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery, Grand Forks.
