Shirley Thompson Molsbarger

April 18, 1954 — July 11, 2014

Shirley (Ma) Jean Thompson Shirley J Thompson, age 60, passed away peacefully in her home with her family by her side in Grand Forks, ND on Friday July 11, after a three month battle with cancer. Shirley Jean Thompson was born April 18, 1954 in Crystal City, Manitoba, the daughter of Wellington and Alice (Robilard) Thompson. Shirley grew up in Hannah, ND where she attended and graduated from high school in 1971. She married Marvin J. Jerome SR. in 1972, moved to Langdon ND where they lived and had four children, Marcia, Marvin JR., George, Darla. They later divorced in 1980. Shirley and her children moved to Grand Forks in 1986 where she worked many years for Drees Farming Assn. She enjoyed camping, antiques, playing bingo from time to time, and doing scratch off's with her daughters and being with her four children and eleven grand children. She was a devoted loving mother, grandma, aunt, sister and friend. She is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers Gerald, Willard, four sisters Doris, Florence, Vione, and Janic; and one Nephew Kevin R Goodrie. Shirley is survived by her four children; Marcia Jerome of Grand Forks ND, Marvin Jerome Jr. of Washburn ND, George Jerome of Grand Forks ND, Darla Jerome of Grand Forks ND; 11 grandchildren, Zachary Jerome, Austin Hoffman, Sheyenne Vondal, Tristan and Alexis Jerome all from Grand Forks, Ethan and Bailey Jerome from Arizon, Sheylyn Jerome, Michael Jerome, Chloe and Kendra Keplin all of Grand Forks; two brothers, Ralph (Faye) Thompson of Grand Forks, Gary (Lee) Thompson of Munich, ND; 5 sisters, Iva Hiebert of Whitefish MT, Betty Goodrie of Langdon ND, Clara (Dennis) Skjordal of Grand Forks ND, Diann (Gerald) Denault of Adams ND, Maybel (Don) Dahl of Crystal ND; And four very special friends, Dustin Keplin, James Metcalf, Shaun Machipiness and her dog Sadie. Her family would like to thank Debra Taylor for that she has did for them in their time of need. And also thank you to all of you for your help.. Shirley (Ma) was deeply loved and will be missed every day. Services: will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 17, 2014 in Amundson Funeral Home, 2975 S. 42nd St., Grand Forks with visitation one hour prior to the service in the funeral home. Interment will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, East Grand Forks, MN.
