Nicole J. Sorteberg

Nicole J. Sorteberg, 27, of Grand Forks, ND died Sunday, July 27, 2014 in Altru Hospital surrounded by family. Nicole Joy Johnson was born on August 1, 1986 in Grand Forks, ND the daughter of Allyn and Gayle (Christianson) Johnson. She grew up and attended Ben Franklin Elementary, Valley Middle School and graduated from Central High School in Grand Forks. Nicole married Jeremy Sorteberg on December 10, 2007 in Grand Forks. Nicole loved spending time with family and raising her three children. She was fond of all animals and especially elephants. Nicole was very close to her mother who passed away in 2009, she missed her greatly. Although Nicole had been through a lot she always had a positive attitude and tried to remain upbeat. Nicole is survived by her husband, Jeremy of Grand Forks; daughter, Kami; sons, Liam and Tyson; father, Allyn of Grand Forks; brother, Dustin (Jill) Johnson of Grand Forks; aunt, JoAnn (Vern) Flanagan of Fargo; father and mother-in-law, Dave and Margaret Sorteberg, Grand Forks; brother-in-law, Josh Sorteberg of Grand Forks. She was preceded in death by her mother Gayle in 2009; grandparents, Arnold and Donna Christianson, Bev Walden and Garnett Johnson. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 31, 2014 at 10:30am in Sharon Lutheran Church, 1720 South 20th St., Grand Forks. Visitation will be for the hour before the service in the church. Interment will be at 2:30PM in the Mountain City Cemetery, Mountain, ND.
