Madeleine J. Cartwright

Madeleine J. Cartwright, 78, of Grand Forks, ND died Friday, August 8, 2014 in Valley Eldercare Center, Grand Forks. Madeleine J. Sullivan was born in Carmel, CA on February 5, 1936 the daughter of Athol and Helen (O'Connel) Sullivan. For 30+ years, Madeleine served as a Drug and Alcohol Counselor, and through those years Madeleine changed the lives of 100's if not 1000's of people. She was a champion among human beings who gave people her whole heart and who loved her family passionately. Her life told a beautiful story of grace and freedom from addiction, and she spread that story to every person she met. The world is truly a better and more incredible place because of this woman. She is survived by her daughters, Lisa (Dennis) Roberts, Encinitas, CA, Madelina (Joshua)Tuinder, Grand Forks; and her beautiful grandchildren Alex and Stephanie Littig and Trinity, Faith, Selah, and Zeal Tuinder. A memorial service will be held on Madeleine's 39th sobriety birthday, Monday, August 11, 2014 at 5:00 PM in Amundson Funeral Home, 2975 South 42nd St., Grand Forks, ND. Visitation will be for the hour before the service in the funeral home.
