Inez Josephine Pazderic

September 10, 1918 — August 11, 2014

Inez Josephine Pazderic 95, of Grand Forks died early Monday morning August 11th at Valley Elder Care in Grand Forks. Inez was born on a farm in Moraine Township, in Grand Forks County, North Dakota on September 10, 1918 the daughter of Joseph and Inga (Field) Olson. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. She grew up and attended school in the Niagara area. At an early age she began cooking for the work crew of a neighboring farm. She was a long time resident of Grand Forks and cooked in local cafes until taking a position at Valley Memorial as a food service employee. While there she completed a course at the University of North Dakota receiving certification as a Dietetic Assistant. She was there for twenty seven years and received many awards for her service. She was loved and appreciated for her home style cooking. She was awarded a citation from the American Business Women's Association for her work on the Ways and Means Committee. Until her death she was still residing in her own home and driving her own car. She loved her independence. She enjoyed lunching with friends and playing cards with her card club. She was faithful to visit her friends and family in nursing homes. She was a long time member of United Lutheran Church. She actively volunteered on many committees there. She also, volunteered as a reservation assistant and hostess for the local Christian Women's Club for many years. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW. Inez is survived by her four daughters, Helen (Al) Millettte of Williston, ND, Darlene McIntire of Niles, OH, Susan Hall of Gridley, CA and Lori (Myron) Yagow of Milnor, ND. Thirteen grandchildren, twenty three great grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and one on the way. Also, several special nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Inga and Joseph Olson; her first husband Francis Pazderic, her second husband Bernard White; her five brothers Art Leen, Rudolph Leen, Oscar Leen, Henry Olson and Elmer Olson and her two sisters Cora Nelson and Gladys Chisholm. Memorials may be given to: Bethel Cemetery Fund. In care of Alice Holweger , 1490 32nd Street, Arvilla, ND 58214, or to United Lutheran Church. FUNERAL SERVICES: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 16, 2014 at United Lutheran Church in Grand Forks. VISITATION/PRAYER SERVICE: 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service Friday, August 15, at Amundson Funeral Home 2975 S. 42nd St. Grand Forks, ND. Visitation will continue the hour prior to the funeral service. PRIVATE INTERMENT: Bethel Lutheran Cemetery, Larimore, ND. A guestbook may be signed or viewed at www.amundsonfuneralhome.com
