Marvin Omlid

Marvin Omlid, 83, of Thompson, ND, died August 21, 2014 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks. Marvin was born January 26, 1931 in Thompson, ND the son of Obe and Magdalene (Fryhling) Omlid. He married Colleen Meagher on September 17, 1950. Marvin worked at the North Dakota State Mill and retired as the superintendent. He loved farming, fishing, and spending time with his family. Marvin is survived by his sons, Dwayne (Elaine) Omild, Rodney Omlid; daughters, Cathy (Dean) Hermanson, Tammy (Doug) Barnett, Joni (Lonnie) Johnson; 11 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Colleen; son, Chuck; and a sister Sylvia Truitt. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 26 at Amundson Funeral Home 2975 S. 42nd St. in Grand Forks. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral service.
