Carroll (Menzel) Lealos Banks

Carroll (Menzel) Lealos Banks, 88, died Monday, September 08, 2014 at 4000 Valley Square Woodside Village in Grand Forks. Carroll was born July 13, 1926 in Duluth, MN, the daughter of Karl & Marie (Nephew) Menzel. She was raised and educated in Duluth, graduated from Duluth Denfeld, and attended a business college in Duluth. She was employed at Elliot Meat Company and Northwestern Bell Telephone. Carroll retired from Sears in 1985 after 24 years of service. Carroll married Patrick Lealos in Duluth, MN. Patrick died in Jan. of 1968. She then married Bernie Banks in 1975. Bernard died in 2012. She was an active member of Holy Family Parish in Grand Forks. Carroll and Bernie spent many hours volunteering at church, Valley Eldercare and Meals on Wheels. Carroll is survived by her 4 children, Dar (Mike) Moen of Bemidji, MN, Kathie (Dave) Robertson of Bemidji, MN, Mike (Rita) Lealos of East Grand Forks, MN, Wendy ( Don) Schultz of Grand Forks; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Pat and Bernie; brothers, Douglas, Thomas and Patrick Menzel. MEMORIAL MASS: 1:30 p.m. Thursday, September 11 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Grand Forks.
