Hannah Kringlie, 95, of Grand Forks, ND and formerly of Portland, ND died Tuesday, September 16, 2014 in Grafton, ND at Lutheran Sunset Home. Hannah Stavens was born on August 16, 1919 in rural Hatton, ND to Thorval and Cora (Hove) Stavens. Her husband of 71 years (until his death in 2010) was Lyle Kringlie. Survivors include her son, Robert and daughter, Rebecca; siblings, Arthur Stavens of Hatton, ND, Emma Riley of St. Helens, OR and Elsie Hovland of Columbia City, OR. Hannah was a dedicated Norwegian that did not like straying too far from the prairie life style she loved, but did enjoy weekends at their trailer on Leech Lake in Walker, MN. Her numerous Walleye fishing successes were not an exaggeration. She was the champion "Scrabble" player and was always available for a good card game. She often described her neighbors in Grand Forks as the best in the world and was always eager to socialize. No local service is planned for Hannah.
