Richard Farroh

Richard D. Farroh, 61, Grand Forks, ND and formerly of Williston, ND, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 21, 2014 in St. Mary's Hospital of Rochester, MN. Richard David Farroh was born March 3, 1953 in Williston, ND the son of Victor and Norma Arline (Nelson) Farroh. He was raised and educated in Williston and graduated from Williston High School in 1971. Richard attended UND (Williston) then worked as a general contractor building homes in Williston. During that time, Richard earned his Private Pilot License, Commercial Pilot License and Flight Instructor Certificate. He later moved to Grand Forks and graduated from UND with a Bachelor of Science in Aeronautical Studies in 1990. Richard earned his Juris Doctor from the UND School of Law in 1993 and spent over 20 years making a career of helping others by opening his practice in Grand Forks. Richard loved tractors and tools. He enjoyed working with his hands and loved to build. He played guitar in his band, Dealers Choice, and enjoyed spending his evenings playing his guitar in the garage and listening to his favorite music. He also enjoyed giving his children pointers and attending their basketball games. Richard married Linda Kohoutek on July 25, 1992 in Grand Forks. She survives along with his daughter, Caitlin Farroh, Grand Forks; son, Ricky Farroh, Grand Forks; sisters, Sherryl (James) Stensos, Kalispell, MT and Beverly Farroh, White Fish, MT; brother, James Farroh, Williston, ND; and several nieces and nephews including a special niece, Kristy (Travis) Tveidt and special nephew, Jason (Brandi) Stensos. Richard was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral Services will be 2:00 Tuesday, October 28, 2014 in Wesley United Methodist Church of Grand Forks, ND. Visitation will be Monday from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM with a 7:00 PM Prayer Service in Amundson Funeral Home of Grand Forks. Visitation will continue for the hour before the service in the church. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials be directed to Catholic Charities of North Dakota Guardianship Division or Special Olympics.
