Helen L. Irwin, 93, Grand Forks, North Dakota, formerly of Stephen, MN and Buena Park, CA, died Monday, November 3, 2014 in 4000 Valley Square - Woodside Village. Helen Luella Dagoberg, the daughter of Leonard and Ida (Dahlman) Dagoberg was born at Stephen, MN on June 25, 1921. She attended Donnelly School near Stephen, and graduated in 1939 from Stephen High School. Helen worked for Stephen Implement for a short time and then moved to Seelah, Washington, where she worked for an automobile dealership. She returned to Stephen to provide care for her mother until 1946 when she moved to Long Beach, CA to work in the shipyards. Helen was united in marriage to M. William Irwin on October 1, 1961. They lived in Buena Park, CA. Due to declining health, Helen returned to Stephen, MN in 2010 and moved to 4000 Valley Square in Grand Forks in the fall of 2011. Helen loved to sing and belonged to the Sweet Adelines. She enjoyed her family and keeping track of family happenings. Helen is survived by a brother, Vernon (Doris) Dagoberg, Stephen, MN; a sister-in-law, Muriel (David) Berg, Waterville, MN; stepson Dean Irwin, step grandchildren Donna and Michael, nieces and nephews, Michael (Hai) Dagoberg, Mark Dagoberg, Susan (Scott) MacMillan, Cathy Childers, Linda (Dave) Enyart, and Tim (Pam) Dagoberg; many grandnieces and grandnephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, a brother, Donald Dagoberg, a sister, Wanda Dagoberg, and a nephew, John Dagoberg. Memorial Services: 10:30 a.m on Tuesday, November 11, 2014 in the Havig-Heen Auditiorum Chapel at 4000 Valley Square in Grand Forks. Visitation will be one hour prior to the memorial service. Interment will be at a later date in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Cypress, CA.
