Delores Gustafson

Delores Aldine Gustafson, 95, Grand Forks, died Saturday November 15, 2014 in Valley Eldercare. Delores Aldine Telle was born on May 7, 1919, to Ole and Anna (Peterson) Telle in Grand Forks, ND. She was a member of United Lutheran Church where she was baptized and confirmed. She was educated in the Grand Forks Public Schools. She married Nels Melvin Gustafson on January 11, 1941. She lived in Thompson, ND; Chicago, IL; East Grand Forks, MN, and Grand Forks, ND. She worked for the Foster Grandparent Program for about 20 years working at United Lutheran Daycare. Nels died August 2, 1971. She liked animals, gardening, listening to the police scanner, UND Sioux hockey, and being with her family. Delores is survived by her 5 children, Don (Carol) Gustafson, Thief River Falls, MN; Roger (Sharon) Gustafson, Thompson, ND; Carol (Ray) Howard, Clarkdale, AZ; Doug (Fiancé Shellie Lundeby) Gustafson, Grand Forks, ND; Lori (Paul) Quanrud, William, MN. She also survived by 13 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and 7 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brothers: Peter, Earl, Alexander, Clarence, and sisters: Olga, Claire, Thelma, Martha, Eleanor, Helen, and Agnes, 2 great grandchildren: Michael and Carleigh Roberts and 1 great-great grandchild Mylee Scapanski. Funeral Service will be held Wednesday November 19, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in United Lutheran Church. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the start of the service. In Lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to be sent to Foster Grandparent Program, United Lutheran Church or Valley Eldercare.
