Lorene Bernice Mayers

Lorene B. Mayers, 84, passed away Tuesday, December 16, 2014, at Hatton Prairie Village. Lorene was born February 14, 1930, in Reynolds, ND, the daughter of Emil & Mary (Kluxdahl) Brevik. She grew up and attended school in Thompson, ND. She married Donald Mayers October 31, 1947, in Crookston, MN. They made their home in Thompson, ND, where they raised 7 children. Lorene worked as a cook with the Thompson School for over 20 years. One of her favorite trips was to visit her family in Norway. She enjoyed playing bingo, baking, reading, playing pinochle, casinos. Lorene was devoted to her children and her grandchildren. Lorene is survived by her husband, Donald; children, Cheryl Lynch of Thompson, ND, Caryn (John) Polley of Grand Rapids, MN, Cathy (Alvin) Leiss of Dickinson, ND, Connie (Russell) Dreyer of Pelican Rapids, MN, Steven Mayers of Dickinson, ND, David Mayers of Buxton, ND, Daniel (Debra) Mayers of Thompson, ND; brothers, Vernon (Gloria) Brevik of Thompson, ND, Allan (Jean) Brevik of Detroit Lakes, MN; sister, Vivian Kittleson of Cross Lake, MN; 11 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and 10 step-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her infant son, Larry; brothers, Marvin & Dennis; sisters, Adeline, Doris, Carol; grandchildren, Tara Lynch and Jody Hilmer. MEMORIAL SERVICE: 4:30 p.m. Friday, December 19, 2014 at St. Matthews Lutheran Church in Thompson, ND. VISITATION: One hour prior to the service at the church.
