Elaine Fenstad, 91, died Wednesday, December 24, 2014 at her home in Grand Forks. Elaine was born October 16, 1923, in Crookston, MN, the daughter of Emil & Clara (Gerlach) Gother. She grew up in Grand Forks and graduated from GF Central High School in 1940. Elaine married Gene Fenstad June 12, 1945 in Grand Forks where they made their home. She worked for Pillsbury as a bookkeeper for 25+ years. She enjoyed traveling with her friends. Most of all she was devoted to her family. She never missed a family or sporting event ever! Elaine was also a lifetime member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Grand Forks. She is survived by daughters, Cheryl (Gary) Lemieux of Grand Forks, Debbie (Dave) Murphy of Sault Ste Marie, Ontario, Canada; grandchildren, Aimee (Adam) Curran, Marc Lemieux, Allison Lemieux and Dr. Mark (Michelle) Murphy; great-grandchildren, Halle & Hanna Curran, Sydnee Lemieux, Will & Ethan Murphy and 1 on the way; several nieces & nephews and 2 feline friends, Patchie & Peanut. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene and 2 sisters. **In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Immanuel Lutheran Church of Grand Forks or the Circle of Friends Humane Society.
