Cynthia "Cindi" Ann Feldman, age 64, passed away at her home in Grand Forks on Wednesday, January 14, 2015, after a nearly eight-year battle with cancer. Cindi was born Sept. 20, 1950, in Altona, Manitoba, the daughter of Grant and Leona (Menke) Defoe. She grew up in Pembina, N.D., and graduated from Pembina High School in 1968. Cindi married Jim Feldman on July 11, 1970. They moved to Sacramento, Calif., in 1972, before relocating to Grand Forks in 1977. Cindi worked in the business office at Altru Health System for 28 years, from 1978 until she retired in December 2006. Cindi lived to take care of her family. She loved spending time with her two granddaughters, Abby (8) and Katelyn (3). She enjoyed taking them shopping, cooking together and attending their gymnastics classes and dance recitals. She also was an active member in the cancer support group at Calvary Lutheran Church in Grand Forks. Cindi is survived by her mother, Leona; husband, Jim; her son, Jason (Heidi), Rochester, Minn.; granddaughters, Abby and Katelyn Feldman; brother Joe (Nancy) Defoe, Pembina; nieces, Megan (Aaron) Bonaime, Minot, N.D., and Nicole Defoe, Fargo; and nephew Matt Defoe, Fargo. Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. Sunday at Amundson Funeral Home in Grand Forks. Visitation will continue from 9:30-10:30 a.m., followed by the funeral at 10:30 a.m., Monday at Calvary Lutheran Church in Grand Forks. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Grand Forks.
