Wayne A. Carl

Wayne A. Carl, 71, of Grand Forks passed away on Sunday, February 1, 2015 at Altru Hospital, Grand Forks. Wayne A. Carl was born on December 23, 1943 in Grand Forks, the son of Jess and Carrie (Frye) Carl. He graduated from Sacred Heart School in East Grand Forks. He married Susan Gerszewski. Wayne worked for UND in Grand Forks for 25 years before retiring. Wayne was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Grand Forks. Wayne served in the Army Reserves from 1965 to 1971. He is survived by his wife Susan, sisters, Maryln (Keith) Barry, Rita Zahradka, both of Grand Forks; sister-in-law, Anita Carl; several wonderful nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sisters. A memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, Feb. 7, 2015 at 11:00 AM in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Grand Forks. Visitation will be on Friday from 5 to 7 PM with a prayer service at 7PM in Amundson Funeral Home, 2975 South 42nd St., Grand Forks. Inurnment will be in Calvary Cemetery in the Spring of 2015.
