Duane Sather Jr

Duane Henry "Skip" Sather, Jr., 36, Northwood, ND died Sunday, February 8, 2015 in Northwood. Duane was born April 14, 1978 in Larimore, ND the son of Duane and Joanie (Capp) Sather. He was raised in Larimore, ND and graduated from Larimore High School. He attended The North Dakota State School of Science at Wahpeton, ND before joining the U.S. Army. After his service, he returned to the area and worked for numerous farmers and construction companies including Strata Corporation. He also worked for the North Dakota Department of Transportation Grand Forks district where he was given Employee of the Year and several awards for being an outstanding employee. Skip loved his two children and his family. He also enjoyed playing pool, fishing and every aspect of construction and carpentry. Survivors include his two children, Samuel and Summer; his mother, Joanie Sather, Larimore, ND; brothers, Kurt (Tad), Houston, TX, Steven (Shauna), Kyle, and Robert, all of Larimore, ND; special friend, Jamilee Morseth; and close friends, Jim and Joan Evenson "Papa and Nana", Grand Forks. Skip was preceded in death by his father, Duane Sather, Sr., by four infant sisters, and by his grandparents, Stanley and Anna Capp, and Henry and Doris Sather. Funeral Services will be 10:00 AM Friday, February 13, 2015 in Amundson Funeral Home of Grand Forks, ND. Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery of Larimore in the spring.
