Arnold "Arnie" Lizakowski

Arnold "Arnie" J. Lizakowski, 76, of Grand Forks, ND died Monday, Feb. 16, 2015 in Altru Hospital, Grand Forks. Arnold Joseph Lizakowski was born in Minto, ND on June 11, 1938 the son of Joseph and Mary (Grzeskowiak) Lizakowski. Arnold grew up and attended school in the Minto area. He was very proud of the fact that he served in the United States Marines. Arnold worked for Molstad excavating and the Grand Forks Herald for many years. He was an avid hunter as well as a baseball and softball player and was named to the 1989 Fast Pitch Hall of Fame. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren. Arnold made people laugh no matter where he went, he was a very giving and generous man. He will be greatly missed. Arnold is survived by sons, Bradley and Chad(Laura) both of Grand Forks and Chris of Fargo; daughter, Amber (Tim) Castillo of Wauankee, WI; former wife and mother of Arnie's children Judith Campbell; sisters, Arlene of Grafton, Joyce of Fargo and Shirley of Grafton; and many grandkids. Arnold was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Lyle "Midge". Funeral services will be on Saturday, Feb. 21, 2015 at 3:30 PM in Amundson Funeral Home, 2975 South 42nd St, Grand Forks. Visitation will be from 1:30PM to 3:30 PM in the funeral home.
