Frances Hall

Frances C. Hall passed away Friday, February 20, 2015 at Valley 4000 in Grand Forks, ND. Frances was born December 30, 1924 in Barton, ND. She was one of six children of Fred and Clara (Saude) Krefting. Raised in Barton, she graduated from Barton High School and attended the Deaconess School of Nursing. Upon graduating from nursing school in 1945, she practiced nursing for a short time at Deaconess Hospital in Grand Forks. Frances married Kenneth I. Hall February 19, 1950 in Grand Forks. In 1952, they purchased The Rose Flower Shop, owning it until retirement in 1984. Frances was active in the Deaconess School of Nursing Alumni Association and a longtime member of Zonta International and the American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing cards with neighbors and friends and "Fighting Sioux" hockey. Frances is survived by her husband Kenneth, son Mark (Julie) of Grand Forks and granddaughters Lindsey of Dallas, TX, and Callie of Minneapolis, MN. She is also survived by her brother, Kenneth Krefting, Cottage Grove, MN, and her sister, Viola Martinole, Kent, WA and 12 nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents and sisters Aleda Holmly, Olive Grace and Edna Johnson. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30pm, Tuesday, February 24 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Grand Forks. Visitation one hour before the service. Memorials can be sent to the Valley Memorial Foundation.
