Halfrid "Hallie" Ellingrud

Halfrid "Hallie" Marie Ellingrud, 96, of Grand Forks, ND died on Thursday, March 5, 2015 in Georgetown, TX where she was living with Mary and Mike Paulson. Hallie was born on June 30, 1918 to Sivert and Mary Ramstad. She grew up and attended school in Mayville, ND and graduated from Mayville State Teachers College. Hallie married Maurice Ellingrud on July 2, 1943 and they lived most of their years together in Buxton, ND. They wintered in McAllen, TX and eventually moved to Grand Forks. During her years in Buxton, Hallie was a homemaker, a school teacher, and also was very involved in the Ladies Aid and Sunday School at Immanuel Lutheran Church. She was actively involved in the family farm by Hillsboro. She also enjoyed her time in Eastern Star and the VFW. She is survived by her three daughters: Mary (Mike) Paulson of Georgetown, TX, Sylvia (Mike) Sansom of Grand Forks, ND and Linda Ellingrud of Edinburg, TX; son-in-law, Tim (Angie) Moen of Grand Forks; five grandchildren, Bill (Kelly) Paulson, Michael Paulson, Melissa (Jason) Oster, Jeremy Moen, and Elizabeth Glasgow; six great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; sister, Margaret Herrmann of Biwabik, MN; and she leaves several loving nieces and nephews. Hallie was preceded in death by her husband, her very special friend Charles Sleezer, two sisters, two brothers and one grandson. God bless Hallie's memory. Funeral services will be on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at 10:30 AM in the Immanuel Lutheran Church, 222 Pottle Ave, Buxton, ND. Visitation will be on Frday, March 13, from 6 to 7 PM with a prayer service at 7PM in Amundson Funeral Home, 2975 South 42nd St, Grand Forks. Interment will be at Immanuel East Cemetery in Buxton, ND.
