Stephen M. Arnold

Stephen M. Arnold, 57, of Grand Forks, ND died Monday, March 16, 2015 in his home surrounded by family. Steve was born on January 29, 1958 in Grand Forks, ND the son of Raymond and Inez (Kreminski) Arnold. Steve grew up in Grand Forks and graduated from Central High School. In the spring of 1978 he met the love of his life, Cindy Nordstrom. On April 8, 1979 he and Cindy married in Hamilton, ND. On June 7, 1979 they welcomed their son, Christopher Michael Arnold. They made their home in Grand Forks, where Steve was the proud owner and master plumber of Preferred Plumbing. Steve loved working with his son and going to concerts and lived every day to the fullest with no regrets. Steve was a talented musician and at age 14 started drumming in his dad's band. He loved all kinds of music, polka, country, and of course rock! Steve also loved Sioux football and hockey and was known for his exotic food at tailgating. On April 25, 2014 Steve was diagnosed with giloblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer. He fought hard for 11 months, regaining strength, never losing his sense of humor. Steve will be missed for his love of life, generosity and his sense of humor; love and laugh, but always live! Steve is survived by his wife, Cindy; son, Chris (Laura); grandsons, Mason, with another grandson arriving in May; brothers, Robert, Alan and Raymond; and a sister Denise. Steve was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, David; Nephew Jake; Niece, Cheree; and father-in-law, Lawrence Nordstrom. A memorial service will take place on Friday, March 20, 2015 at 10:30 AM in Amundson Funeral Home, Grand Forks. In honor of Steve, please wear your favorite musician/band clothing or favorite sports team. Visitation will be for the hour before the service in the funeral home.
