Dorothy Rose Miller, 87, of Grand Forks, North Dakota died Friday April 10, 2015 at Valley Eldercare Center. Born February 6, 1928 in Walsh County, North Dakota, Dorothy was one of ten children. Raised on a farm, Dorothy learned early in life about the value of hard work and dedication to family. After finishing high school, Dorothy went to work at Newland's grocery store in Grand Forks. It was at that time that she met Roy G. "Bill" Miller who she married August 28, 1950. She worked in Miller's grocery stores and raised three children. Dorothy had a keen sense of humor. She loved to garden, play cards, and visit with family and friends. Dorothy didn't like the limelight, but people were drawn to her kindness and grace. Dorothy is survived by: her children Jerry Miller (Joanne) of Grand Forks, Robert Miller of Las Vegas, Nevada and Ann Sherwood of Missoula, Montana and her grandson Peter Wogsland of Seattle, Washington; her siblings Isabell Rasmussen, Henrietta Gerszewski, Clarion Kowalski, Francis Kowalski, Dennis Kowalski and James Kowalski. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy G. Miller, daughter in law, Urai, parents Leo and Amelia Kowalski, and sisters Leona Ebertwoski, Sophie Grzadzieleski and Ernestine Crafton. A funeral mass is scheduled Friday, April 17, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Michael's Catholic Church, Grand Forks. Visitation will be Thursday, April 16 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. in Amundson Funeral Home, Grand Forks. Interment is in Calvary Cemetery, Grand Forks. It is difficult to summarize a life in few words. We will miss your lovely face, your laugh and your unyielding support and love.
