Rita R Spicer of Grand Forks, ND passed away on Monday, April 20, 2015 at Altru Hospital, concluding the last chapter of her life; "The Long Goodbye" through Alzheimers Disease. Rita Rae Wagner was born Feb. 2, 1932 to Sylvester and Bernadette (O'Brien) Wagner in Grand Rapids, MN. Rita married William M. Spicer in Grand Rapids, MN in 1950. Through this union came 7 children: 2 daughters; Casey (Lloyd) Nelson of St. Paul, MN, Julie (Elwood) Omdahl of Grand Forks, ND and 5 sons; Douglas Spicer of Hurricane, UT, Bill (Julia) Spicer of Casper, WY, Steve (Cathy) Spicer of Grand Forks, ND, Bruce (Becky) Spicer of Madison, WI, and Jeff Spicer of Grand Forks, ND. She was blessed with 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Rita started her career life as a Telephone Operator. After moving to Devils Lake, she and husband William entered into the Food Service/Industry. She enjoyed dancing , life-guarding, painting, and raising her 7 children. In 1975, Rita married Eugene Anderson, and moved to AZ where she lived the next 31 years of her life. In 2007, she moved back home to ND where she lived the remainder of her life. Besides her children and grandchildren, she is survived by her siblings Mary Bell of CO, Bill Wagner and Karen Duffney of MN. A memorial service will take place on Friday, April 24, 2015 at 1:00 PM in the Holy Family Catholic Church, 1018 18th Ave S, Grand Forks.
