Alana (Voiss) Dodge

January 20, 1955 — April 18, 2015

Alana Joy (Voiss) Dodge, 60, passed away Saturday afternoon, April 18, at Sanford Health in Fargo, ND after a courageous battle with heart complications. Alana was surrounded by her family in love and prayer. Alana was born on January 20, 1955 in Grand Forks, ND to Donald and Beverly Voiss. She attended high school in Grand Forks, ND and graduated from Red River High School in 1973. Alana accepted Christ as her personal Lord and Savior at vacation bible school and attended Grace Baptist Church throughout her younger years. Alana's greatest achievements have been in the lives of her family and friends. Her children and grand-children were her pride and joy - always showing pictures and telling stories to others of exciting events in their lives. Alana had a heart of gold for those in need. Most recently she spent several years volunteering at the Myrt Armstrong Recovery Center in Fargo, ND where she enthusiastically assisted with fundraising, charity, and advocacy activities. The center was founded to address the social and rehabilitation needs of persons with serious and persistent mental illness. Alana is survived by her mother, Beverly (Dutt) Voiss, (Grand Forks, ND); her children, Heidi Brenna (Grand Forks, ND), Steve (Kayla) French (Dickinson, ND), Benjamin Dalen (Grand Forks, ND), and Nicole Dalen (Grand Forks, ND); and four grand-children. She leaves her family with the knowledge that they were truly loved and they know that she loved the Lord. A time of visitation will be held at 9:30 am on Thursday, April 23 at Grace Baptist Church, Grand Forks, ND, with a celebration of life service to follow at 10:30am. Interment will be at Memorial Park South. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Cardiac ICU staff at Sanford Health in Fargo for your care of Alana and comforting words to each of us. Memorials are preferred to be sent in Alana's honor to the Myrt Armstrong Recovery Center, 1419 1st Ave S, Fargo, North Dakota (ND) 58103.
