Alice Mae Vien

Alice Mae Vien, 73, of Grand Forks, died Tuesday, May 18, 2015, at her home in Grand Forks, ND, with her family at her side. Alice was born November 6, 1941, in St. Vincent, MN, the daughter of Wesley & Rose (Reese) Hart. She graduated from Cavalier High School. She married Oliver L. Vien August 3, 1962 in Cavalier, ND. They made their home in Grand Forks. Together they were foster parents for several children, and in 1976 they began their own day care operation for 30 years, until her retirement in 2006. Oliver died in 1984. Alice is survived by her daughter, Angela Vien; grandchildren, Ariel Vien, Zachary Vien and Destiny Smith; brother, John Hart. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Oliver; and brother, Paul. FUNERAL SERVICES: 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 26, 2015, at Amundson Funeral Home in Grand Forks VISITATION: One hour prior to the service. INTERMENT: Memorial Park South Cemetery, Grand Forks, ND.
